Waterhole  > Events > Winfield Snapshots > 2001. If we had to be somewhere when they destroyed the Twin Towers, there was no better place than Winfield.
9/11 hit everyone very hard. A tour of the campground that evening had many people playing hymns and patriotic songs. Lots of flags appeared as soon as people could find a way to put them up. Neighbors everywhere were talking and reassuring each other. Winfield never seemed more like one big family!
